Retiring footballers

Support for all levels of Retiring  Footballers.

Are you retiring from football? Whether its after a full playing career or whether you’re a youth academy team player who has struggled to break through into the main game, support exists to help you move from football into a new career.

Although it may not be obvious at first, once your career in football is coming to an end, there are many career options open to you. Career options are often not explored whilst you are still in a playing career but once it becomes clear that you need to focus on an alternative career, for whatever reason, you will need to think about where you see your career heading and where you will generate an income from in the future.

The thought of becoming an “ex-footballer” may cause anxiety and uncertainty and often confusion but remember, a footballing career gives you many skills and strengths which are highly transferable into other careers and commercial roles.

It is these skills and strengths which we help you to capitalise on and ensure that you develop techniques and strategies to successfully convey these skills, both in your CV and at face to face meetings, to best promote yourself to a future employer.

There are many alternatives for ex footballers and many employers will deliberately wish to recruit ex footballers due to the skills and strengths a career in football develops in you. You might be amazed at the range of jobs ex footballers have gone on to after a career in football. See a list here

We help retired and ex footballers (at both ends of the age spectrum) to explore all options. These options can include full time employment, part time roles, volunteering, franchisingsetting up your own business and portfolio careers.

Equally, you may wish to stay in sport and develop yourself in coaching or fitness or a similar specialism.

Other options are being championed by some world famous footballing names including Robbie Fowler who has set up a “buy to let academy” for players wishing to get started on the property market. Click here
